Amy Uyematsu, award-winning poet and high school math teacher, is the author of three collections of poetry, including the most recent, Stone Bow Prayer (Copper Canyon Press, 2005). A recipient of the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize, she also co-edited Roots: An Asian American Reader, one of the first anthologies in Asian American studies. She is a sansei (third-generation Japanese) and lives near Los Angeles.
